The core purpose of bearings with retaining rings is to simplify axial positioning. By interfacing with a retaining ring in the bearing housing or shaft, the built-in retaining ring quickly secures and limits the bearing in the axial direction.
The key benefit of this design is that it eliminates the need for complex positioning steps or the use of nuts, retaining rings, and other components, significantly saving installation space and assembly time.
Core Application
Axial Fixing: The retaining ring fits into a groove in the bearing's inner or outer ring, which in turn engages a corresponding groove in the shaft or bearing housing, directly limiting axial movement of the bearing.
Simplified Structure: This replaces traditional retaining methods such as shaft shoulders, nuts, and circlips, reducing the number of parts and machining steps.
Space Saving: The overall structure is more compact, making it particularly suitable for equipment designs with limited axial mounting space.
